Every season the amazing clothes that big designers produce is used as inspiration for high street brands. I’ve been doing a bit of hoking around and found some look-a-likes.
By far one of the hottest collections for Spring/Summer 2011 (take a look at my previous post Tutti-Frutti prints, https://belfash.wordpress.com/2011/04/20/tutti-frutti-prints-for-summertime/ for more inspiration!). I loooove these citrus prints, so fresh and summery.
I like the print on this NEW LOOK dress, however I think the shape is a bit uninspiring (a prom dress, really?). With so many amazing new shapes on the catwalk I think NEW LOOK have been lazy with this design.

I think PRIMARK have done a far superior job in their lemon-print dress. The print is gorgeous and I love the way the top half of the dress is woven diagonally. At £9.00 you have no excuse for not buying it!
The print on this ZARA blouse, £29.99 is a bit too much leaves and butterflies and not enough fruit for my liking. However I’m glad someone had designed something other than a dress from McCartneys inspiration.
Hope you liked this! I’m going to try to do a BELFASH LOOK soon, I can’t at the minute though as I’m all sick with a tummy bug :(. But I’m sure I’ll be better soon. Any suggestions just comment on my facebook page – http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002252247478.

From big oversized circles to tiny, John Lennon inspired frames; round is definitely the most wearable and versatile shape of the season. They add a vintage edge to any outfit and flatter every face shape!

Grab yourself a pair of these lovelies in preparation for holidays! Look out for tomorrow’s post :).
Also on Friday I’ll hopefully be doing a stylespot and I need a wee helper to interview the people – facebook me if your interested!
Hi everyone, sorry for the delay and my general laziness! This week I’m getting very excitamundo because hopefully I’ll be booking the 15th-22nd of June off and booking my tickets to go to the SONAR festival in Barcelona!
Click here for the SONAR website.
While I’m there I’ll definitely have to do stylespotting every day – I can’t miss that opportunity!
So because of that It’s got me thinking about festival style in general..
Unfortunately for anyone going to a local festival, Ireland and England are both considered to have generally miz. and unpredictable weather so we have many more things to worry about fashion-wise. Here are my 3 basic essentials for a local festival (eg. OXEGEN).
1. Wellies – seriously, do not kid yourself into thinking your converse will do. You will get trenchfoot.
The fluoro-orange Hunter’s are gorgeous but £75 is a wee bit unrealistic. Still, nice to drool over. The unisex Dunlop’s on the right might not look like much but they are a classic wellie-boot, they keep your tootsies nice and dry and they’re only £11.99.
2. Good socks: Get knee highs in various colours and thicknesses, you’ll thank me when everyone else is getting wellie-chaif on their calves from wearing bare legs. Also they’re cosy and you can jazz up your Wellington’s with them!
O’Hanlon Mills boot socks (unisex one size fits all) available from URBAN OUTFITTERS for £5.oo. Blue stripe socks, £5.00 from ASOS.com. Try folding the top of the sock over your wellies for extra comfort + so everyone can see your lovely socks :).
3. A raincoat: Don’t go without a basic pack-a-mac! and also I’d advise you not to bring a big hefty coat as it’s a pain when you get into the sweaty arenas. Thin layers are the way to go. (annoyingly I can’t find anywhere selling them at the minute but I’ll find some soon).
So those are my 3 basic essentials, in the next few posts I’ll be looking at rucksacks, tents, make-up and festival fashion in past years. Oh and what I hope to be wearing at SONAR in sunny Barcelona! Hope you enjoyed this one and if you have any questions let me know!
In my last post I looked at Diane Von Furtsenburg, Givenchy and L.A.M.B’s printed creations for Spring/Summer 2011, and although they are beautiful most of us can’t afford designer :P. So in this post I’m looking at affordable ways to wear this seasons print-trend.
Snake print headband, £6.99 RIVER ISLAND. Festival bag, £20 from ASOS.com. Elephant print TOMS from SCHUH.co.uk (soooo cute! I love elephants.)
Teaming printed leggings and accessories with a fun, laid back t-shirt is a perfect look for daytime. You could also dress up the leggings with a pair of wedges and some tribal jewellery.
Aztec print top, £16 and printed skirt £34.99 both from TOPSHOP. Black wedge sandals £90 from FLY London at SCHUH.co.uk. Woven navajo backpack £46 from URBANOUTFITTERS.co.uk. Printed headband, £3.99 from NEW LOOK.
I really like this as an outfit, I would wear it for daytime but you could dress it up by wearing a black lace top like this one from ASOS.com:
Hope this post was helpful and inspiring etc! Went on a stylespot today and found some lovely lookin’ peeps so watch out for the ‘you’ve been BELFASHED #3’ post tomorrow.
Summer is coming so put those boring winter accessories to the back of your wardrobe and take a look at these sunny treats.
Every girl needs a nice summery handbag, whether it’s a big duffel bag for the beach or a little bright clutch for walking about town in the sun. Here’s some of my favourites for every budget.
Striped duffel bag, £16.99 and Bright yellow duffel (also comes in blue), £14.99 both from NEW LOOK. Love the print on the first duffel bag, it looks like something you could buy from a little spanish market.
Aztec print rucksack, £45.00 from ASOS.com
This rucksack is super versatile, use it for walking about town or as your carry on baggage and beach bag for Summer Hol’s!
Annnnd if you wanna treat yourself, why not do it with one of these gorgeous Satchels from the Cambridge Satchel Company!
14 inch Satchel, £108.00 from The Cambridge Satchel Company – available at URBAN OUTFITTERS
Also comes in Mint Green with navy detailing, and they sell smaller versions in neon pink and orange for £98.
Let me know if you liked these handbags or if there’s anything you’d like me to do a post on.
As I’m in Donegal, tomorrow I thought I might do a post about the local arty-farty cafe, Muck and Muffins in Dunfanaghy. It’s really cute they sell all sorts of wee bits and bobs for your home and handmade jewellery etc, as well as lovely coffee and cake – what more could you want! Check out their li’l website http://www.muckandmuffins.com.
P.S. If you’d like to know, it’s raining up here and I have only brought shorts with me – silly billy. Hopefully the weather picks up 🙂
P.P.S. All the writing highlighted in pink is a link to something, click away.
Okay so if I haven’t told you already I’ve started a fashion blog as part of my build-up-a-portfolio gap year. I’m going to be doing style spotting and general speculation about what I love and hate.
Heres hoping everything goes sweetly! P.S. should have a BELFASH facebook page soon so keep your wee eyes peeled .
