- Sequin Baseball Dress – Native Rose (bought at Urban Outfitters)
- Ripped Boyfriend Jeans – Urban Outfitters
- DR. Martens (VERY old)
I’m completely in love with my jazzy sequin baseball dress; but it’s one of those items that’s so jazzy that once you’ve worn it on a few nights out you feel like you have to keep it under wraps for a while.. because its so memorable. I wanted to try it out as a dressed-down daytime outfit so I can get more use out of it. I think it looks well paired with these super baggy boyfriend jeans, and the length of the dress hides the fact that the jeans keep falling down round my arse!
My trusty Dr. Marten boots are so old, I don’t even want to think about it.. it makes me feel like a withering old lady.
(9 years old if you must know….UGH).
Aside from the fact that I feel like I’m getting eve- closer to middle age, my DM’s have served me SO well; they’ve been through many a festival and general hideous Belfast weather and they’re still going. Not a hole in sight. They have a lot of scuffs on the top but I think that adds to the look of them – and they’re soft as butter as I’ve worn them so much.
You can check out the boots Dr. Marten’s has to offer here. I’m loving these:
Love this shape! Considering investing in these..beaut! Dr. Marten’s Bryony Boot – £160
Dr. Marten’s Finn Boot – £130 (available to pre-order, out on the 31st of March)
Or, if you have loads of cash moneeeey $$$£££ to spend why not go all out on these amazing disco princess jeans by Diy by Panida:

- Galaxy Print Windbreaker Jacket – Pop Sick Vintage (Asos Marketplace Boutique)
- Bobble Hat – Lazy Oaf
- Caterpillar Boots – ASOS
- Red lipstick- ‘Ruby Woo’ by MAC
My jacket game feels very strong! What an amazing print 😀 – this Pop Sick Vintage windbreaker arrived in the post yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with it. There are loads of fun hidden pockets and compartments and it’s just the right amount of over-sized. It’s also lined so its cosy for a windbreaker, which is great for Newcastle’s blustery weather.
I hate the winter, and around this time of year I would usually say that I can’t wait to put my coats and jackets in to hibernation and break out the skimpy summer clothes..but a jacket like this changes that. I feel so cheerful wearing it!
A few of my snaps of the Street Style that London had to offer last year :D. **All my own photography**
Spotted outside the Topshop show space at London Fashion Week in September. Those trousers are SO good. I wonder if I could do that myself? Attack a pair of jeans with a stanley knife..? Paired with a casual, loose fitting black polo neck and a pair of white Nike blazers this look is a perfect example of sport luxe styling.
I loveee Sinead’s bright blue roots – created using Kiko Hair Shadow, great for a temporary change – and hides root growth at the same time, win. This would look great paired with some gel and glitter, as seen in my Glitter Hair Inspiration post.
Check out the spiky leather backpack she’s wearing here
Sneaky celebrity snap!! Leah McFall‘s grey hair & futuristic glasses are on point! The High neck top layered underneath the ‘NYC’ jumper is from Shade London – check them out! Overt branding – top to toe outfit from Nasir Mazhar check out my post on Nasir Mazhar’s use of diverse models for his 2013 catwalk show here.
Faux fur scarfs <3. Here’s a very similar one from ASOS – on sale too 😉
Super kawaii! The girl on the right’s shorts are from the Illustrated People x Phoebe (from Made in Chelsea) collab collection – All on Sale now! I hope they do another collab – I have the Eyeballin’ shorts seen here 😀
GLITTER ON EVERYTHING. SPARKLY DISCO BBZ!!!
I’ve been noticing this trend emerging for a while now in editorial shoots & on the catwalk – but was surprised by how much imagery I found when I actually researched it. Glitter in general has been having a massive beauty moment – check out my glitter lips and eyebrows from 2014:
Using MAC Glitter in 3D pink over lipstick.
Here’s some glittery sparkle hair inspiration photos I’ve found:
First up – glittery roots
Brushed through to the lengths, possibly sprayed on?:
Artfully applied streaks:
Thickly applied & slicked back:
How not to do it..
I intend on trying this out myself ASAP. I’m thinking glitter hair spray from Claire’s Accessories will work nicely. Literally the same stuff I used when I was going to the Primary School Disco haha. Nostalgia! I’d probably try some standard hair gel + craft shop glitter for the more slicked back styles & glitter roots. If it works out well I’ll post it up ;).

Primark have released their Spring/Summer 2014 collection- and it looks sweeeet well done lads. Up the cheap and cheerful.
Love the styling here as well – corn rows/braids are set to be a big hair trend this summer. Primark has undergone a complete image overhaul and I applaud them for it; they have continued to grow through the gloomy recession and altering their target market towards youth fashion will see them grow even more.
I would happily wear every one of the looks in the images above; which is a big step considering when I was younger I would’ve been embarrassed to be seen in Primark (and I wasn’t alone in that feeling). I’ll be popping in store this week to check out the goodies.
These 3D photos of M.I.A’s new collection for Versace are amazing. The collection is controversially inspired by Versace counterfeits. Check out the rest of the photos by Jamie Martinez here: M.I.A Versus Versace
“Counterfeits are something I’ve always had and collected, and I would also collect a lot of vintage Versace from the Nineties,” she said. “Sometimes I like the copies better and sometimes I like the original. I felt that there needed to be a bridge between both, or definitely a mix-up, so it’s really a collaboration between Versace and the bootlegs.” – M.I.A interviewed for Vogue
These were shown to me a few days ago by my bezzer pal Katie B. Check out her blog! http://whatktwore.blogspot.co.uk/
In uni at the minute we’re doing a project on Diversity in the fashion industry and I feel that it’s opening my eyes to new ideas of what fashion in the future could be. In the past 20 years we’ve seen the rise of the supermodel; ‘heroine chic’ and size zero, and more recently the use of plus size models on the catwalk.
At London Fashion Week this September Nasir Mazhar’s collection really caught my eye, not only for the designs/styling but the very diverse range of models. The catwalks are still predominantly Caucasian, tall, skinny girls so I found Mazhar’s model line up really refreshing.
The models look happy and confident, which I think should be promoted more in the industry: regardless of shape/race/age/class.
Vivienne Westwood’s models make up made them look like an abstract portrait of themselves. Or possibly a clown… However, although I wouldn’t wear this look out on a Friday night I do really like the idea of being more playful and experimental with makeup.
